WHAT AMERICANS ARE TALKING ABOUT TODAY –
And How They’re Talking About It
Join us for a debate/discussion series about the topics Americans are debating amongst themselves this year, particularly in preparation for the upcoming presidential elections! This series will combine historical information, American culture, discussion/debate methods and language instruction (such as specific vocabulary, “politically correct” terminology) and much more! Be prepared to learn a lot, get involved in what Americans are talking about
and to have fun!
Topics include:
Immigration law in the U.S.: Arizona as a Case Example (July 4 at 5p.m.)
Health Care Reform: Medicare and Medicaid (July 9 at 5p.m.)
Democracy and the Upcoming Presidential Elections (July 11 at 5p.m.)
American Foreign Policy in the Middle East (July 16 at 5p.m.)
Education Reform: Silicon Valley vs. Skolkovo (July 18 at 5p.m.)
This series is being led by our AMC intern, Eva Seo Kim, a student of Harvard University who is currently studying in Moscow for the summer. She is an energetic and enthusiastic debater and you will surely learn much from these discussions!
