Lawrence Schmidt, Head of Brinkerhoff Geology Library, University of Wyoming, and Stephen Boss, Head of Library IT, University of Wyoming

Join us to hear a delegation of librarians from University of Wyoming present an overview of key digital collections developed by the UW libraries. They will talk about how digitization of library resources allows a library to succeed in the 21st century. They will highlight one of their most popular libraries, the Herbarium, which contains searchable and viewable botanical herbaria collections and botany field books documenting the university’s collections of specimens.

They will also discuss the creative planning and digital infrastructure behind this successful project, which is one of the most heralded digital collections in the U.S., and will provide tips on how to create a strategy for your own library.

Larry Schmidt is the Head of the Brinkerhoff Geology Library. He has covered the Physical Science and Engineering disciplines and built virtual herbaria collections over the last six years. He has worked with University of Wyoming for over ten years.

Stephen Boss is the Head of Library IT at the University of Wyoming. He has been in this position for over 10 years and enjoys being able to deliver traditional and digital content to patrons.
