"The Art of the Russian Orthodox Church: An American's Perspective" by Elaine Wilson Artist and Author, Former Executive Director, Susquehanna Art Museum
In this lecture educator, art historian, and artist, Elaine L. Wilson, will reach back to the 1300s to feature four of the Moscow area’s most remarkable churches. Her lively presentation will include overviews of the histories of Andronikov Monastery, Kolomenskoye Monastery, St. Basil’s Cathedral and the Church on Sparrow Hill.
Having visited all sites numerous times, Elaine‘s paintings of each building combines with her memories and experiences to make for an entertaining, enlightening, and informative experience for audiences. This is a lecture not to be missed by anyone interested in history, religion, and/or colorful artistic interpretations of significant facets of Russia’s long and fascinating past.
