The month of March hosts a special world sport event, the Iditarod. Called "The Last Great Race on Earth," this event challenges teams of one man and 12-16 dogs to race over 1,150 miles of astonishingly beautiful terrain in Alaska. It begins in Anchorage and ends in Nome, home to the Inuit. To celebrate this event, we are pleased to show another Arctic race in a beautiful film, "The Fast Runner." This is the first Inuit-produced feature-length film written, produced and directed by Inuit, and it received many starred reviews and prizes as one of the best films of the year. The film tells an ancient Inuit legend of love, betrayal, revenge - and a very long race - precipitated by a visit by a mysterious shaman.
Part One will be shown on Thursday, March 3 and Part Two will be shown on Friday, March 4. Be prepared to be amazed!
