We are very excited about this event! Get involved in a service project in your community so, no matter where you are, you can join the Obamas and Bidens in celebrating the inauguration by giving back. Throughout the history of Presidential inaugurations more and more of the citizenry has been invited to participate - the inauguration has become an event for the average citizen. The inaugural address sets the tone for the president’s term of office and provides Obama with an opportunity to introduce his plans for the next four years. Beginning with the inauguration of Washington in 1790, Presidential inaugurations have reflected the style and times of our elected leaders.
