Introducing a new monthly program, "Discovering the Joy of Non-Fiction!" Beginning in October, the American Center staff will conduct a monthly lecture series in order to introduce patrons to popular, contemporary non-fiction writers, books and/or topics. The AMC director, Kore Gleason, will present the first lecture on Wednesday, October 27 at 6p.m.! In honor of World Space Week, which takes place in October, her topic will be "The Little Known Comedy of Space Travel." This lecture will center on "Packing for Mars," the newest novel by Mary Roach, who has written several successful novels on fascinating aspects of non-fiction.
