Mrs. Misty May-Treanor has enjoyed tremendous success in volleyball, beginning in college when she was awarded the NCAA Championship co-MVP in 1998 and NCAA Athlete of the Year. She continued to receive prestigious accolades, including Best Offensive Player and Best Defensive Player for several years in a row. She then pursued beach volleyball, quickly achieving several wins and a spot in the 2000 Olympics Games. Then, along with her new teammate, Kerri Walsh, Misty won gold at both the 2004 and 2008 Olympics. She currently holds the most wins of any female to ever play volleyball.
Outside of volleyball, Mrs. May-Treanor is author of “Misty: Digging Deep in Volleyball and Life,” and was a contestant on the popular U.S. television series, Dancing with the Stars.  She is a member of several charities and married to Major League Baseball catcher, Matt Treanor, with whom she has one child.

Mrs. May-Treanor is visiting Russia in her capacity as a Sports United Envoy, a program to engage overseas youth in a dialogue on the importance of education, positive health practices and respect for diversity. She will be in Moscow along with a delegation of U.S. volleyball players and coaches as part of the U.S-Russia Bilateral Presidential Commission’s Education, Culture, Sports, and Media Working Group.
