Please join us to hear a presentation by Seth Bernstein (University of Michigan) and Ben Sawyer (University of Toronto), who will discuss their current research. In the early 20th century, after a war and during a time of political turmoil, thousands of people seeking a new, better life became immigrants in a strange land— the Soviet Union.
Ben Sawyer and Seth Bernstein will give presentations on American migration to the Soviet Union in the 1920s and on the history of the American Seattle Commune in the North Caucasus.
