Nicholas Collins is a professional actor based in Houston, Texas. Having performed in numerous theatrical productions, his educational background includes workshops with Sir Peter Hall of the Royal Shakespeare Company and Yale University's Christopher Carter Sanderson. He began his dramatic study at Rice University with Mark Ramont (of both Circle Repertory Company and Ford's Theatre), where his studies also included computer and cognitive sciences. Additionally, he studied both linguistics and theatrical literature at the Universidad de Chile in Santiago. He holds two degrees from Rice, where he has taught undergraduate computer science courses. His other interests range from green architecture and urban planning to photography and contemporary art. This is Nick's third talk at the American Center and he is excited to return once again. His most recent talk was «American Theater — Past and Present,» which was well-received by AMC patrons in June 2009.
