The health care system in the United States is currently in a state of major upheaval. What are the issues involved? What changes have various political parties and constituencies suggested? Visitors will learn all about this issue in a talk that was originally in the schedule in October and which we are very happy to offer you now. Speaker Mike Snyder is an Assistant Cultural Affairs Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow working on the American Centers and Corners in Russia and with alumni of U.S. exchange programs. He has worked for the State Department for six years and was previously posted in Chisinau, Moldova and Yerevan, Armenia. After growing up in North Carolina, Mike went to Haverford College outside of Philadelphia, where he majored in Russian Studies. He returned to his native state to study Russian History at the University of North Carolina, where he received a master’s degree. Mike arrived in Moscow in July, but was lucky enough to have been an exchange student in Russia twice before, studying in Velikiy Novgorod and Moscow.
