Brent Davids - Native American Composer and Rights Activist, Mohican Indian
Brent Michael Davids’ musical career spans 34 years, including awards from several organizations, enthusiastically focusing on his indigenous heritage (he is an enrolled citizen of the Mohican Nation) and honoring its unique qualities in a contemporary setting. You can hear his music in dozens of film scores and television music, the most famous of which may probably be the film, “The Last of the Mohicans.”
Davids currently operates a music company he founded, Blue Butterfly Group (BBG), and serves as educator and consultant to myriad schools, festivals, seminars and workshops. In his spare times, he designs his own music instruments (including quartz crystal flutes!).
Davids will speak about Native American stereotypes and music. You don’t want to miss this presentation/musical concert!
